'Both the Olympus OM-D E-M5 II and the Sigma DP2 Quattro have pretensions to offer super high resolution images. The Olympus, via it's High-Res mode offers a 40MP jpg. and a 64MP raw file. This however requires no subject movement, an exposure that requires sensor shift and therefore a tripod. The Sigma offers a S-HI jpg. option which is 39MP and an incredible 'Double Size' option from raw which is an unbelievable 78MP. So do these options produce what these numbers indicate, very high resolution images. And if so, are they actually any good?'

'As well as selling still images, many libraries now sell stock video clips as well. One of the reasons I've been so busy recently is that I've started to take this seriously. I have a handful of video clips uploaded, but difficulties over formats and the time it takes to upload have always made me reluctant to really get serious about it. However, the library above has made things somewhat easier and I now have the option to upload 4K clips from my Panasonic phone which don't take ages to upload and are excellent quality. 'I used to be very negative about wi-fi and it's possibilities, almost entirely because of the complicated and unreliable nature of it's implementation. In fact in many cases it's inclusion was a headline generator only, because otherwise it's a complete waste of time. Not so with this Olympus App. It works, it's useful and it hasn't had me wanting to throw the whole lot into the stream that runs through my garden. That's a surprise, but obviously a pleasant one and I wasn't expecting that. So if you have this camera and haven't checked the app. out yet, give it a try. You may well find something of real use there. I certainly have.'

'The Olympus m.Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 on the OM-D E-M5 II not only looks great, it performs very well also. Olympus are in the process of putting together a set of three f/2.8 throughout zooms, that will go some way to establishing their half of the m4/3 system with serious professional credentials. This 12-40mm is already available as is the 40-150mm f/2.8 and the 7-14mm f/2.8 is imminent. When you factor in the IBIS of the camera, the m4/3 'advantage' that allows wider apertures and faster shutter speeds, the upcoming lens will add real seriousness to an ever evolving system that is going to make a lot of photographers, of all levels of income, think very seriously about what they are using currently. (If it isn't Olympus of course)'
