'When thinking about a portable, small, light, high quality hybrid system for stills and videos, the Olympus OM-D EM-10 is a surprisingly good option. Surprising, because it is a very small cameraa and because after the release of the all-singing all-dancing OM-D E-M5 II, it doesn't get many column inches devoted to it anymore.Read More

'These are experimental chiaroscuro HDR black and white multi-image stitched 'panoramas' shot with my Olympus OM-D E-M10 and Panasonic 15mm f/1.7 lens and Nokia Lumia 1020 Smartphone. The original images (usually three or four for each pano) were uploaded onto my iPad. I then stitched them together in Autostitch and edited them with Snapseed.'Read More
'Mirrorlesson fashions have dictated that 'lookaleicas' are on the way out and film SLS type designs are very much the order of the day. The Fuji X-T1, Olympus OM-D E-M10 and Sony A7s are examples of this. I've just had three days shooting with each and here's some pictures plus some comments on my experiences with each.'Read More
'I was reminded of when the Panasonic G1 was announced and some reviewers were 'shocked' to find that at base ISO the G1 was very close, if not actually better, than the 'full-frame' Nikon D3 and D700.'Read More
'But in the meantime, m4/3 is a very attractive system. A great selection of cameras and lenses and if you are seriously into video, Panasonic in particular have some pretty spectacular options. And if m4/3 continues to offer me something useful, then I will continue to use it.'Read More
"The FZ1000 has become my go to camera whenever I'm shooting somewhere that has extensive viewpoints that would benefit from that 400mm (35mm film equivalent) zoom. It's just so useful to be able to move from wide angle to extreme telephoto very quickly. "Read More
"It's also important to realise that what appears to be mundane and commonplace to us is far from that to someone from another country and another culture. It is sometimes difficult for us to see the familiar with new eyes, but in essence that is what stock photography is all about."Read More
"While others may choose other lens options, this is right for what I want and I can see I'll enjoy using it, safe in the knowledge that the results it gives me will be top drawer, no matter what aperture I use. And I have no hesitation in giving the Panasonic 15mm F1.7 Leica Summilux DG ASPH Micro Four Thirds Lens a highly recommended rating."Read More
"The first thing I have to say is that this is a superbly made lens. It does in fact make my Olympus primes look 'cheap'. It actually feels like it's made from metal, unlike the Olympus m.Zuiko 25mm f/1.8. It's also has matte stone grey finish which is actually VERY classy."
"It's the old question. is a prime lens better than a zoom at the same focal length and aperture? The accepted opinion is that yes it probably is. But haven't zooms got better these days? And since they are more popular, does the oft repeated doctrine that primes are better still hold true?"Read More
"At various times in my life I've wanted to be a train driver, a rock star and a novelist but I can't really think of anything better than waking up in the morning, looking out the window and thinking "This is a good day to go out and take some pictures.'"Read More
"The m.Zuiko 25mm f/1.8 'standard' lens is the latest addition to the Olympus set of fast primes. This comprises the 12mm f/2, 17mm f/1.8, 25mm f/1.8, 45mm f/1.8 and 75mm f/1.8. The 25mm filled in the gap in the range. These are all small, nicely designed lenses that will work well on the smaller Pen type cameras as well as the OM-D series, including the 'pro-spec' E-M1. "Picked up a Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 25mm F1.8 Lens today. Very nice little lens, similar to the 17mm f/1.8 and 45mm f/1.8. I managed a few tests and it looks very good optically. Hopefully today I'll give it a more thorough workout."Read More
"Above are three versions of the main house. One shot on the Olympus and two on my Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone. These days I always shoot something I can process later to create a flltered 'smartphone' type image. The bottom shot above was sent from my phone to Instagram using the filters in the app. Doing this gives me three distinct 'looks'."Read More
"Using the Olympus OM-D E-M10 reminds me of the early days of m4/3 and what I hoped it would be. There is now a variety of m4/3 cameras, some of which I like, some of which I don't, but this camera, somewhat to my surprise, is definitely in the former category. And it does fulfil many of the requirements of what I want from a m4/3 camera."Read More
