There has been a Leica Q (Typ 116) Firmware update released and I installed it on my camera a couple of days ago. Not a lot new.
'Version 1.1 Performance Improvements:
Improvement of the image quality in lower ISO settings
Bug Fixes: Exposure has been corrected in digiscoping mode after switching off and on again. Improvement of the Live View in monochrome mode in combination with AF tracking. After installation of the new firmware the Live View now shows a monochrome image. For proper focusing the camera switches to color when pressing the shutter button half way.'
I was intrigued by the 'Improvement of the image quality in lower ISO settings' though I have to say after shooting a test shot before and after the firmware update, I looked very hard at the two tests and couldn't detect any difference in sharpness or noise levels. The image quality from the Q is superb anyway and maybe this 'improvement' is measurable, but it certainly doesn't jump out at me from my screen.
So much as I'd like to report that one of the best cameras for image quality just got better, I actually can't. I can't find anything on the internet either that either confirms or denies this. Odd.
