In a follow up to my last piece, this is an interview with someone from Nikon Europe basically articulating what I suggested their attitude is. And no I did not have prior knowledge of this.
If I had shares in Nikon, I think I would be inclined to dump them now. I mentioned in reply to a comment that some companies haven't learnt from the IBM meltdown. You know when IBM declared that nobody would ever want to buy a desktop computer and the future was in mainframes. Substitute large sensor quality mirrorless cameras for desktop computer and DSLR's for mainframes and you have Nikon's position.
