Something got announced today - now what was it? Oh yes the Olympus E-M10

Even the m4/3 sites seem unimpressed by this. On 4/3 rumors there was this poll

Seems almost as many people are interested in the fisheye lens cap as the camera! There is an element of after the Lord Mayors show with yesterdays Fuji announcement, but do Olympus really think that there is a significant market for a smaller, lighter version of the OM-D E-M5? At this moment in time there is a UK Olympus deal whereby you get an OMD-EM5, Battery Grip(s), 12-50mm weather sealed lens + 45mm f/1.8 lens for £899. This E-M10 with it's ridiculously small pancake kit lens is going to cost £699. The E-M5 deal is so good I almost bought one (Still might) and shows up this new camera to be the 'milk 'em dry' completely superfluous addition to the Olympus range that it is.

Oh and Olympus have released their version of the wonderful Panasonic Leica 25mm f/1.4. Except that it's f/1.8 and costs £369. The Panasonic is about £60 dearer and a proven quality option. Sometimes I wonder about Olympus.
