Really, REALLY good article.

'Virtually every hobbyist or unskilled amateur I encounter is utterly convinced that they must always have the shallowest depth of field possible, or else they cannot possibly enjoy their photography. They are also convinced that a professional photographer would feel the same way, and they would be very wrong indeed.'

Unskilled amateur. Must remember that one. Read every word. Wonderful stuff from a talented photographer. Though do be warned. This is a 'soccer mom' i.e. Woman.

Question - Why is it that female photographers have this talent for good sense and thoughtfully reasoned argument about photography, while we, the other sex, somehow feel our manhood slighted by the very notion that someone uses different gear to us?

Answers on a postcard please and mail them to Ken Rockwell.
