Pentax K3, Zeiss 55mm f/1.4 announcements

Two new announcements from the last couple of days. Yet another K-5 clone, the Pentax K3, with apparently the same sensor as the D7100. Its smaller, yet heavier than the D7100 (got that right then!) and features a AA filterless sensor with an AA filter 'simulator'. Whoopee! So buy one of these instead of a D7100 for a 'shaking sensor' and access to the truly awful and overpriced Pentax kit zoom lenses (now weather sealed - as if that made any difference) more overpriced and mediocre zoom lenses and apart from the 31mm, 43mm and 77mm 35mm lenses a mediocre range of primes. Why buy a D7100 with access to the best lens range in the world when you can have one of these? Why indeed.

Second announcement, the Zeiss Otus 55mm f/1.4. Again why buy several superb Nikon lenses when you can spend €3000 or $4000 dollars on one of these 970g monsters, apparently named after an owl. Particularly when you see samples from the Zeiss (From Zeiss itself - See link on SAR page) some of which are actually awful. The myth of Zeiss continues.

I gave up on Pentax a while ago and Zeiss are just taking the p**s yet again. $4000 dollars to put your back out!! A bargain.
