Sony NEX-7 with Voigtlander lenses

Down to the Cotswolds with my NEX-7 and Voigtlander 20mm and 90mm Nikon mount lenses. I had some interesting thoughts on the way back including "Why am I doing this?" The Sony NEX system is a bit lacking in direction to my mind. I'm not sure if there are as many cameras as lenses, but it feels like it. I've tried most of the lenses and they are OK. They look and feel really well-made, but the range is a bit minimal. I don't always want to be using adapted MF lenses or a-mount lenses and I wonder how they are going to proceed.

There are more lenses being announced shortly, including a wide-angle zoom at last, but when will these be readily available? Next year? The new NEX-5R is a bit underwhelming. It does of course have a screen that flips round so that you can take self-portraits and "a modified sensor with pixels devoted to performing phase-detection to provide a hybrid autofocus system" plus as an added bonus "Wi-Fi for connection via Wi-Fi networks or to smartphones". Whoopee! What more could a photographer want?

This did trigger off all sorts of other thoughts in my mind, involving lens ranges, what system(s) should I be seriously investing in, what does the future hold and most importantly what am I going to do about it? My camera shelf looks like the inside of my local Jessops at the moment and is going to get even more crowded in the next couple of days. So assuming I want to eat or pay the mortgage in a few weeks time, there has to be one of my periodic clearouts. I think I know what I'm going to do, but I'm hesitant to write it down since, as it well-known by now, I'm famous (infamous) for changing my mind. However, through the murk and confusion I might just be coming up with a semblance of a plan for a long-term strategy. But then don't hold your breath, it could all be different tomorrow!!. More later.
