Panasonic G5 arrived

In the midst of Android nonsense and Photokina hysteria you can actually now buy a Panasonic G5. Mine arrived this morning. I'll be doing a full review and user experience but in the meantime here is a little taster.

This camera is the fastest focusing and quietest camera I've ever used.  Bringing the camera to my eye, and its good to see the eye sensor sadly missing on the G3 is back, the lens has already focused. The shutter, fully electronic, is instant (and I mean instant) and TOTALLY SILENT. Thats right, not a peep, nothing. I estimate total picture taking time from seeing the shot to it recording on the card as about .5 second, if I'm quick. Absolutely amazing. And there I was thinking this was just a standard upgrade.

Anyone interested in street photography out there? Meet your new best friend.

More tomorrow.
