On Location with a Nikon D800E

I've managed to get away for a few days before the summer reverts back to normal. Yesterday I used my Nikon D800E with either a Tamron 28-200mm or Nikon 24-85mm zoom lenses.

Both of these zooms are useful. The 28-200mm because of the reach and lightness and the 24-85mm because of the VR, which came in handy when I was shooting last evening with the last rays of the sun. Wanting to keep the ISO low and get the maximum amount of depth-of-field, I was shooting hand-held with some pretty low shutter speeds.

The shot below was taken at 1/15th.sec.- f/10 - ISO 100 - 80mm which is pretty impressive. It was just before the sun dropped below the horizon and was much darker in reality than the picture indicates.

I was taking pictures in a variety of locations and of a variety of subjects. Some of these are not particularly commercial subjects, but in line with my intention to shoot what catches my eye, I was pleased with the results.

Three more days of this weather apparently until the rain returns. I'm looking forward to it.

For those who are wondering where this is - Its Somerset.
