Somebody once wrote a comment on one of my Leica M9 pictures a while ago - "Wow, Digital Velvia!" Well, you ain't seen nothing yet!

Yesterday was an interesting day weather-wise in the UK. Yesterday morning and lunchtime we were bombarded by torrential rain, including hailstones. The road outside my house turned into a river, and a road into my local town centre collapsed under the weight of water. Later in the day it cleared up and Ann and I had an evening walking alongside the river in Stratford-Upon-Avon. The weather was warm and sunny, with beautiful light.

The combination of the D800 and Photoshop CS6 allowed me to produce the images above, from raw files,  giving me the option to produce both high and low contrast images. What really impressed me was the wonderful rich colour, which was very similar to how daylight balanced film renders warm evening light. Just another reason to confirm my belief that this is the best sensor I've ever used.
