Nikon 24mm and 85mm primes

Nikon D7000 85mm f/1.8D lens
Nikon 85mm f/1.8D

Nikon D7000 24mm f/2.8D
Nikon 24mm f/2.8D

I've bought these two excellent Nikon primes to put together a 2-lens kit for the D7000. The D5100, with no built-in AF motor, doesn't autofucus these lenses. Both these lenses, by general consensus, are among Nikons finest, despite being fairly cheap. (I bought these for just over £300 each) While the Nikon zooms I have are excellent, these show just exactly what the D7000 sensor is capable of.

Both lenses are very sharp, even wide open.

I've always liked these D lenses, with their aperture rings. They have been around for a long time, but still work very well on modern cameras. Both focus extremely quickly on the D7000.

I did some test shots, using three separate images and combining them in Photoshop to produce 100MB files and the results had incredible resolution and sharpness.

Hopefully the sun will be out today so I'll be able to use them more.
