The weather has been dull and wet for the past few days, and I've been using the time to do more editing of the huge backlog of 2010 images I still have awaiting upload to stock / library sites. Amongst these are a large number of multi-image panoramic shots from my Leica M9. In terms of resolution and image quality, these are pretty jaw-dropping. Beautiful colour and extraordinary sharpness, even after all the warping and bending that occurs when Photoshop or PTGui stitches these together.
I've looked at lots of samples from the Pentax 645D and the large multi-image files created from the Leica M9 have a lot more "punch" than the medium format files. Obviously the Pentax has extremely high resolution for single shots, but for landscape images with the time to be able to take more than one shot the Leica is hard to beat. One of my (slightly late) new years resolutions is to use it more this year.
