Canon 550D Nikon 85mm f1.8D Lens.
There have been lots of posts here about these two lenses. Both are an old design. Both have a certain magic with the combination of a smooth look combined with great bokeh. We have the Canon 85mm f1.8 and 50mm f1.8 which are excellent lenses but which don't produce images like this.
This does make up for the difficulty of using them. Manually focusing using the 10x magnifier on the 550D. Live view for composing, focusing and taking, so holding the camera at arms length. Its a slow process and since they are both pretty heavy lenses a tiring one. For certain things they are wonderful, for others almost useless. We use the 50mm f1.2 an awful lot for video with the GH1's. Since it only goes up to 1600 ISO a fast lens is essential.
