Photographing in the UK

Photographing in the UK can be challenging at the best of times, with our unpredictable weather. As I've indicated in previous posts, this last winter and the current beginning of spring has been unusual in terms of the low temperatures and large number of sunny days. Our predominately south-western airflow with its gulf-stream warmed winds, normally results in lots of wet, mild, and cloudy weather, with fairly limited opportunities for outdoors photography. But this year has been very different and I've been out shooting much more than usual.

I've always enjoyed winter photography, with the low sun providing excellent light all day & the bare trees offering unrestricted viewpoints. Yesterday was another such example. Another bitterly cold day with a biting wind, but clear blue skies. I walked along the River Severn in Worcester, giving the 10-22 zoom on my 550D another workout.
